The Apostle Peter wrote to encourage scattered disciples who didn't feel at home in this world. Disciples are preserved through salvation and persecuted by the enemy but can persevere with lasting hope. Following Jesus means learning how to suffer well in a world in which we do not belong. Peter's instructions show how to live fully in this crazy world. Hope to endure suffering is out of this world; it's in Christ.
